Our Story
It began with a shared insight between an enterprise architect, a business leader, and university professors. We saw a critical gap in how AI was entering our institutions: students were turning to generic AI tools as "Answer Machines," bypassing the critical thinking and problem-solving methodology that education is designed to develop.
While these models were powerful, they lacked the context, security, and control needed for professional and academic environments. They were "black boxes" that professors couldn't guide or verify.
We founded Alkimi AI to solve this "Answer Box" crisis. We realized that secure, grounded AI wasn't just a technical requirement; it was a pedagogical necessity. We built Alkimi not just as a wrapper, but as the infrastructure for grounded, academic AI.
Our platform transforms AI from an answer machine into a Socratic tutor, one that guides students through the thinking process rather than handing them solutions.
